BUSINESS ENGLISH WORD OF THE DAY: ROBOTICS

BUSINESS ENGLISH WORD OF THE DAY: ROBOTICS

After the coronavirus do you think your company will turn to robotics for solutions such as staffing? Are you soon to have more digital colleagues?

French translation, la robotique

Hello Darlings! Happy Thursday!

Darlings, I am feeling incredibly lazy and burnt-out. I can't keep up my manic schedule with blogging and youtube and all the rest of it. Like, omg I need a robot. :)

But seriously, after the coronavirus, I think more companies are going to hire more robots. Robotics is going to be the new buzzword in business after this situation is resolved. Do you agree?

For one thing, businesses outfitted with robots will be able to continue no matter what is going on around them. They won't need continuity plans because Robots don't get coronavirus. Robots don't get sick and tired.

In my view, if nothing else comes out of this horrible situation, businesses worldwide are going to be looking to artificial intelligence and robotics and they are going to spend big money (no frivolous expenditures here) on automation systems. They are going to be looking to creating a digital workforce like we never imagined possible.

The whole point of robotics is to reduce the dependence on human labor and human capital anyway, isn't it? I am not an expert on this topic obviously so this is just all conjecture. But do you think robotics will just ignite after coronavirus? Do you think you are in for some digital colleagues and digital employees and a digital workforce?

There are clear advantages to having a digital workforce. There are measurable benefits to that, I think. And one of those is being impervious to forces majeure like what we witnessed with the coronavirus pandemic of 2020.

It may take a few years to implement this across all spectrums and domaines and fields. In healthcare and delivery and customer service it is clear that robotics could be a big help when people are unable to move around as freely as they normally do.  But in many other fields, I am sure that robotics also present clear advantages.

There are disadvantages too, of course. Not the least of which are all the jobs that people will no longer have because their roles have been taken over by robots.

What do you think about all this? And when do you think your company will have it's first "bring your robot to work day"?

....am so tired.....
