My experience is that most people prefer to learn English face to face. Certainly, most French learners I have met have expressed that they prefer to learn English face to face. They don’t like online courses and most don’t want to speak on the phone. I can totally understand why. I like face to face also.
But there are some people who find that learning English by telephone can be very useful. They want to practice speaking on the phone in English because their job entails speaking on the phone a lot, and understanding what the English speaker is saying, without having the benefit of seeing the person’s face.
Speaking on the phone in English, especially when you are a beginner, can be difficult and can seem daunting. That is because, human conversation is facilitated by looking at the person’s face when they are speaking. Seeing their mouth, their facial expressions and their eyes, aids in understanding what they are saying, even when you are not a native speaker.
With telephone English, it is more difficult because you don’t have the benefit of seeing the person. All you have to go on are you ears.
Business English Paris would like to offer you the opportunity to practice your English by telephone.
Business English Paris does not offer Skype.
This will be English by either a mobile phone or fixed line, but not by Skype.
